PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (also known as PUBG) is a battle royal developed by PUBG Corp. The game is based on some mods developed by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene for other games inspired by the movie Battle Royale. In the game up to a hundred players are placed on an island where they have to find weapons and objects and kill other players. You can win the game by being the last to remain. The playable area is getting smaller and smaller so survivors are forced to confront each other.

Gameplay

Battlegrounds is a first and third-person shooter in which up to one hundred players are placed on an island with the aim of being the last to remain. Players can choose to play alone or with a team of up to four players.

Each round starts with players parachuting from an airplane to an island of about 8 by 8 kilometers. The path of the airplane is random and different every round. Once landed, players can search in buildings for weapons and objects. Areas that are more risky often have better objects. Players can choose to play in first-person or third-person perspective. Every few minutes, the playable area becomes smaller to force confrontations. Players who are outside the playable area slowly lose life points. A full round often lasts no longer than 30 minutes.

At the end of the round, players receive in-game currency. The amount of currency a player receives varies based on the time they were alive, how many players they killed, how many teammates they have and how much damage they have done to other players.
